Position Description
We are searching for an experienced AS/AD to ensure that our client needs are met strategically and tactically, by maintaining an effective level of direct contact with our clients, and by monitoring and guiding account executives’ daily activities. The Account Director bears final responsibility for the account’s growth and profitability, and the development of this $1M+ pain management account.
This person must have a solid background in mid- to senior-level healthcare marketing and demonstrated performance as a healthcare advertising agency account executive. A minimum of 4+ years’ of healthcare advertising agency experience is required to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Contacts and forms relationships with senior client personnel
- Ensures client relations are positive and stable; and that management is immediately informed of any potential problems, budget overruns, etc.
- Reviews strategies and recommends improvements
- Reviews campaign conceptual directions to ensure strategic marketing objectives remain in focus
- Ensures client needs are properly and efficiently staffed
- Meets with account executives on a regular basis to review their activities
- Evaluates account executive performance on at least an annual basis
- Guides account executives in career and skills development
- Reviews estimates, quotes and unquoted invoices to ensure budget requirements are met and profitability maintained
- Reviews major media and public relations plans, and creative strategies before submission to clients
- Monitors accounts receivable and credit-worthiness of accounts
- Ensures that financial management of accounts meets agency standards
- Seeks out new business opportunities and plays a leading role in their development
- Participates in Agency/Client Performance Plan reviews
- Reports to GM/Founder

Qualifications
- BA/BS degree required;
- 4+ years of pharma account agency account experience (50% HCP)
- Pain management experience a plus but not required
- Organic growth and new business development experience is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics
- Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively
