Challenge
This midsize pharmaceutical advertising agency, located in a suburban area in the U.S. pharma corridor, struggled to attract top executive talent to their organization for a number of years.
Recommendation
Titanium became intimately involved with the President/Owner who set the tone for describing the culture and type of talent they desired. In a brainstorming session, the client and Titanium came to the conclusion that a fact information sheet and other company brochures (which included awards and community accolades) would assist in attracting top talent to consider not just the agency, but the lifestyle and school systems in the area.
Outcome
Titanium added a number of top executives to this agency which included their Senior Vice President, Director of Client Services, who oversaw their entire book of business and reported directly to the President/Owner, three Vice Presidents, Client Services, and their Vice President of Human Resources (all of these were new positions within the Agency). It should be noted that the client had one EVP in their structure who was an equity partner and a 10+ year veteran at the organization. This agency increased its revenues by roughly 50% over a 24-month period. This client is a standing reference for Titanium and has shared numerous times that “Titanium is not just any search or consulting firm, but rather truly a trusted partner”.
Challenge
This publicly traded network debated about either buying an advertising agency or kick-starting their own with roughly a $1.2M investment. The client wasn’t sure if they needed to start this agency in New York City or house this new agency in one of their existing US offices.
Recommendation
Based on many years of experience in the healthcare advertising landscape, Titanium shared with the client that the talent pool is vastly deeper both in and around the greater NYC metro area. Furthermore, it was well known that majority of Titanium’s client’s clients prefer to come into New York City; both to be on site for business meetings with Titanium’s clients, and then ultimately to be “wined and dined” in The City after their business meetings. Titanium recommended that the client needed to engage and retain Titanium to start the research and identification process of numerous candidates for the three key positions as these key executive searches would take up to nine months regardless of honing in on the specific location (in this case NYC) for this new agency.
Outcome
The client retained Titanium and when they made the decision to open their new office in New York City, Titanium had the three key executives on-boarded within six months. They included the agency President, who reported to the CEO of the group, and two Executive Vice Presidents in Creative (both copy and art). Each of these three key stakeholders had extensive agency experience combined with an excellent track record of new business pitch and quantifiable win experience.
Challenge
The client, who is a Venture Capital backed agency, was looking to build out an East Coast office to service an existing $5M – $10M client. The client needed talent who could go out and grow the business beyond this single client, as well as partner and grow this existing single account. The client made the decision to set up their office in the Philly area due to geographic proximity to their multi-million dollar client.
Recommendation
Titanium shared best practices in courting talent to work in “Center City” Philadelphia, and that the remuneration must be competitive to attract talent who reside in Jersey and who can travel into either NYC, Philly, or who can even work in New Jersey.
Outcome
Titanium brought in two of the three pillars to kick-start this new office (the third pillar was referred internally at client by a former peer). Titanium brought in two NYC agency executives, both of whom resided in NJ, and who could make the daily commute to the new “Center City” Philadelphia office. These included the EVP, General Manager who had a client service pedigree as well as the EVP, Creative Director, Art. These two key stakeholders had a tremendous amount of new business pitch win experience.
Challenge
Our client, who is the Global CEO for a publicly traded international network, charged Titanium with adding Public Relations, Healthcare, Managing Directors to C-Suite talent in various markets including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington D.C., London, and Latin America.
Recommendation
Titanium shared with the client that these searches would be handled in a harmonious fashion as there would be cross pollination during the search for these key executive leaders. Every candidate has their own motivation for making a move regardless of their current geographic location, and we would determine what candidates would be viable for one or multiple offices that our client was looking to open.
Outcome
Through Titanium the client has hired and is currently actively interviewing Managing Directors, Practice Leads, Presidents and C-Suites from their international competitors. Titanium identified 489 prospects; subsequently, 19 candidates were interviewed by the client with multiple placements made.
